About Us
First Serve is dedicated to enhancing the lives of youth and uplifting communities through education, life skills training, and peer mentoring. We’ve been making a positive impact in Florida for more than 30 years.
A Better Me
Healthy communities begin with individuals.
Internal
Intelligence & Character
Building self awareness and interpersonal skills helps students see their “blind spots”, better understand their motivations and actions, and make smart, deliberate choices.
External
Opportunities & Resources
By combining practical and emotional skills with resources and opportunities, students can focus beyond their circumstances, enhance their lives, and share their success with others.
By taking the time to properly invest in the lives of youth on a personal level there is a greater likelihood of sustainable change at a community level. This lasting change comes from caring for youth and supplying them with ways to build their self-esteem and leadership skills during their most formative years.

A Better We
We serve by partnering with the organizations that are ingrained in their everyday lives.
Instead of Starting new programs from scratch, First Serve has found that the most effective way to serve a community is by partnering with the organizations that are already ingrained in their everyday lives and adding curriculum focused on emotional intelligence, self-awareness, decision-making and resilience.
By working in tandem with churches, community centers, public schools, law enforcement agencies, and other groups, First Serve has been positively impacting communities throughout Palm Beach County for over 3 decades.
A Better Way
Billions of dollars are invested each year to fight poverty, crime, and violence. And most of the initiatives are ineffective. Why? They provide resources, but without the skills and support to use them effectively. We see the power of combining resources and opportunities with education, life skills, and emotional awareness.
This is when real change starts to happen.
With guidance from its independent Board of Directors, First Serve staff directly oversee the hiring and training of hundreds of teen mentors, equipping them with the tools to help younger students and developing their personal futures along the way.
Mentors and mentees learn and grow alongside each other. They have fun, stay active, create strong connections, and learn everything from general hygiene to financial literacy. Younger students often grow to become mentors themselves, and the positive cycle continues.
Healthy communities start at an individual level.
By engaging, educating, and empowering youth in their most formative years,
lasting, sustainable change in neighborhoods is possible.

"I wish I would have had something like this when I was growing up. I wish I would have had this because I feel like I needed a safe space when I was growing up that could help guide me into the person I wanted to be. I want to give these students what I didn't have growing up.
